Since childhood, Milton Morris has had a love for photography. After earning a degree in business from Clemson University, Milton worked as a photographer's assistant in New York City. While there, he helped produce fashion, product, and TV projects. When he returned to SC, he started his own business photographing a wide range of subjects for advertising, corporate, and editorial clients. His talent caught the eye of numerous clients, such as Forbes, Unilever, The Wall Street Journal, Cigar Aficionado, and Better Homes & Gardens. Milton also presented his work at a French national photography conference in Versailles, France. At the conference he spoke about his lighting techniques.
After spending 8 years living on Wadmalaw Island and working in the Charleston area, Milton moved back to the Pee Dee into the 100 year old farmhouse where his grandparents resided. The Creative Fields is located in the warehouse of the family's former fertilizer business.
Milton recently completed a commission sponsored by The Medical University of SC, the Halsey Institute of Contemporary Art at the College of Charleston, and the South Carolina State Museum. The Palmetto Portrait Series consists of images of South Carolinians from throughout the state reflecting the full range and diversity of the state's citizens, occupations, and recreational activities. Milton was one of 6 photographers chosen in 2007. The portraits will be on permanent display at the State Museum in 2010. A majority of his portraits were of individuals from the Pee Dee region.
When he is not behind the camera, Milton spends time with his other loves; his wife and their two boys.
